ecos Geotab Integration
The Geotab Integration keeps mileage records accurate by syncing odometer readings from Geotab into ecos webman automatically.
Every pool car shows its current odometer value in ecos webman, and carpool reports show the start and end reading for each booking. No more manual mileage entries, no more guesswork when it's time to bill, audit or service a vehicle.
The integration of ecos and Geotab is done via the Geotab API.
ecos webman connects to your MyGeotab database and matches each ecos car object to its Geotab vehicle using the VIN. The odometer value of every paired vehicle is then synchronized to ecos webman every 5 minutes.
How it works
Basic configuration of the Geotab connection in ecos fleet admin settings, including your MyGeotab URL, database name and the access data of a Geotab user who can see all relevant vehicles.
One-time pairing of each ecos car object with its Geotab vehicle by entering the VIN in ecos webman.
Automated synchronization of odometer values from Geotab to ecos webman every 5 minutes.
Key Features
The Geotab user used for the connection needs a role with access to all vehicles that should transfer their mileage to ecos webman, for example, the Administrator role.
Vehicles are paired using their VIN, so each ecos car object must carry the same VIN as the vehicle in Geotab.
The object page in ecos webman always shows the latest synchronized odometer value of the car.
The carpool reporting shows the odometer reading at the start and end of each use, giving you reliable mileage per booking without manual entries.
Odometer values are refreshed every 5 minutes, so your ecos data stays in step with your telematics.
Accurate mileage. Zero manual entries.
Pair your pool cars once, and ecos webman automatically pulls odometer readings from Geotab. Every booking gets a start and end reading, ready for reporting.
