For a data center certified to ISO 27001, physical security can’t be a patchwork. Partimus needed a single, authoritative system to govern who enters the facility — customers, employees and external companies — and to manage keys, rather than operating two disconnected tools that staff would have to reconcile by hand. The requirement was clear: one system had to lead. 

The choice of supplier mattered as much as the choice of system. Because the certification chain has to hold end to end, Partimus wanted a partner that was itself ISO 27001 certified — so that trust could be demonstrated, not just asserted. 

Partimus deployed ecos access control terminals across each successive security zone. At the outer perimeter, the ecos system opens the vehicle gates and the pedestrian gates. At the next layer, it controls the entrance door and manages both building keys and facility keys through ecos key cabinets. At the core sits a single-person security airlock: users pass through one at a time and are identified biometrically, so that only a person with genuine authorization — authenticated with two factors — is admitted to the data center. The airlock is video-monitored, with clear signage, and interlocked so that both doors can never be open at once. 

Because both companies are ISO 27001 certified, establishing the system across every zone was straightforward — the shared standard gave each side confidence in the other from the outset. 

Every Partimus employee carries the ecos app on their phone. With it they can open the vehicle gate from anywhere and respond to the door. Configurable doorbell groups are alerted when someone rings — a delivery driver or a customer — so staff can admit the right supplier remotely no matter where they are, which makes evening deliveries possible. And when suppliers or external personnel who aren’t registered in the system need to enter, a supervising employee can escort them and release the airlock remotely through the app.
