Easy management of a huge number of keys

The ecos plus system was developed for the secured safekeeping, complete registration as well as for the recording of the removal and return of keys. The system is suited also for time recording and for usage in nursing services.

The objects are attached to intelligent plugs using safety locks or seals. These plugs are coded via an integrated chip. This ensures that the key attached to the intelligent plug is always uniquely identifiable.

The software ensures clear documentation and recording of all key movements.

System components

• Key cabinet with integrated system plate (processor), keyboard, LCD display, loudspeaker and personal identification method like PIN code, non-contacting card reader or also biometric methods (fingerprint, palm recognition).

• Administration programme based on Microsoft .net development environment and a Microsoft SQL-data base.

Mode of operation

• Keys are attached and sealed to a special plug, which is robust, resistant and specially developed for regular use.

• This key and plug combination is protected by a solid steel door which is locked to prevent unauthorised access.

• A personalised access authorisation allows the opening of the door. This is achieved either through the integrated key pad, using a secret code and/or an ID card or using biometric distinguishing characteristics.

• This ensures that only identified and authorised people can remove the keys. All activity is permanently registered and recorded in the data base.

• Each time the key is removed, this action is clearly assigned to a user.

Alarm

• Individually adjustable safety levels allow different levels of variation in alarm. Unauthorised actions (e.g. exceeding time limits) are recognised immediately.

• The multi-level alarm system immediately informs of the use of force, unauthorised removal or interruption in electricity supply at the location both optically and acoustically as well as in the control centre.

• Events are simultaneously recorded and can be automatically passed over to the Officer-in-Charge or an extraneous security service company as email or SMS text message.
